Mary Beryl Wagoner, 85, of Genoa, passed away Monday morning, September 7, 2015, at the Genoa Retirement Village. Beryl was born February 2, 1930, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to James E. and Anna B. (McClure) Scott. On June 6, 1953, in Genoa, she married her high school sweetheart, Jay L. Wagoner, and he preceded her in death February 3, 2004. They graduated in 1947 from Genoa High School and for many years together they coordinated their class reunions. Beryl worked as a loan officer for Lucas County State Bank, until it became Huntington Bank. She retired in 1987 after 37 years. Beryl was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Genoa. Her strong Christian faith was her comfort and her purpose. She was also a member of the Genoa American Legion Post #324 Auxiliary and the American Institute of Banking. Many of her hobbies included collecting cardinal birds and shamrocks, traveling, attending antique tractor shows and spending time with family. Beryl is survived by her daughter, Christina (Rick Besgrove) Wagoner of Genoa, son, William (Carol) Wagoner of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Lisa (Stuart) Guffy, Lynn (Steve) Maschino and William (Erin) Wagoner, Jr.; six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her best friend and sister, Maxine Dunn, her close friend, Janet Sondergeld, dear family friend, Carol Rush, and her dear niece, Paula Pierro. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Nina Claire Bertok, brothers, Richard and Chandler Scott, and infant daughter, Mary Dawn. The family wishes to thank the Genoa Retirement Village staff for their loving care and compassion given to Beryl during her stay with them. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2015, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2015, at Trinity United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Clay Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Beryl may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church, 313 Main St., Genoa, OH 43430; Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551; or Allen-Clay Joint Fire Dist. #3, 101 E. 6th St., Genoa, OH 43430.
