Mary Jean Van Natta, 89, of Navarre, OH and formerly of Port Clinton, OH lived a very full and rewarding life by facing each day on her own terms, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, July 29, 2014. Mary Jean was born in Long Beach, CA on May 06, 1925, the daughter of the late S. Robert Blackburn and Katherine E. Murdock. She was a woman of quiet faith and as a homemaker, placed her family at the center of her life. She and her family had resided in the Port Clinton area where her husband, the late Dr. Wilbert W. Van Natta, DDS had served the community. More recently she had been a Florida resident before relocating to her daughter’s home in Navarre, OH, in 2013. In her leisure time she enjoyed the company of her family and friends, reading and playing bridge. Survivors include: Daughter: Patricia A. (Steve) Owen of Navarre; Son: Jeffrey L. (Amy) Van Natta of Norwalk; 5 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren and a Sister: Mrs. Betty Jane Moore of Tahlequah, OK. Mary Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson: Joseph Van Natta and a sister: Mrs. Sue Stevens. Visitation will be 10-11am, Saturday, August 9, 2014 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, followed by a Memorial service at 11:00am. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery, Port Clinton.
