Mary C. Turk

Mary C. Turk, age 80, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 14, 2010. She was born July 12, 1930 in Toledo to Francis and Goldie King. Mary was employed as a bookkeeper for Sears and Roebuck Co. She was a 1948 graduate of Central Catholic High School. Mary met and fell in love with her husband, Alvin at a dance and they have been married for 60 years. She enjoyed making floral arrangements and arts and crafts. Mary also was fond of Ireland and anything Irish. She was a member of the Kay-C-Ettes, Salesians and was a former lifelong parishioner of Christ the King Parish where she served on the Altar and Rosary Society and was a Eucharistic Minister. Mary was a charter parishioner of Blessed John XXIII Parish in Perrysburg, Ohio. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Alvin Turk; son, Edward Julie Turk; daughter, Kathleen Bill Smelser; grandchildren, Richard Sheeler, David Turk, Kelley Turk, Will Tezak and Chris Tezak; great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Swartz and sister-in-law, Judy King. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Charles King. Family and friends may visit on Thursday from 3-8:00pm at the Maison-Dardenne Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. Maumee, OH. Services will begin on Friday at the funeral home with prayers at 9:30am followed by a 10:00am funeral mass at Blessed John XXIII Church, 24250 Dixie Hwy. Perrysburg, OH 43551. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Sylvania. Memorial contributions may be sent to Blessed John XXIII Church.
