Mary (Cahlik) Traverso

Mary (Cahlik) Traverso, 88, formerly of Berea, OH passed away Friday, April 23, 2021. She was born on May 7, 1932, in Prestwich, England, to Thomas and Mary Deveny. Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Known for her outgoing personality, cheerful laugh, and English flair, Mary was often the life of the party. She made friends wherever she went and enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and being a member of the Red Hat Society. Mary was independent and strong-willed. She had a fiery spirit that stayed with her until the end. Mary’s family was her pride and joy. She would do anything for her sons and even more so for her grandchildren. Countless hours were spent playing games, coloring, and being entertained by Nana. She was a kid at heart. Mary recently moved to Sandusky, Ohio, where her son Mark Cahlik resides. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Arthur Traverso, her first husband, Robert Cahlik, her beloved son, Gregory Cahlik, and a brother Tony Deveny. Surviving are her sons Mark and David, grandchildren, Peggy Brad (Adrian), Brenda Campbell (Mike), Beth Dieckhoner (Ken), Jeff Anderson, Chalin, Mark, Jade, and Skyler Cahlik, great-grandchildren Reagan, Sebastian, and Gavin, and daughters-in-law Karie and Celene. Funeral services for Mary will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
