Mary Southerland

Mary Kumpe Southerland, former resident of Hidden Valley Lake, Indiana, passed away on May 16, 2018 at the age of 86, preceded in death by husband Charles R. Southerland in 2010. Mary graduated from Maumee High School in 1949, and then entered nurses training at Toledo Hospital School of Nursing. She received her RN certificate in 1952, and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she was employed by Childrens Hospital for 20 years. Married Charles Southerland in 1970, then joined him in his CPA office. An active member of the Order of Eastern Stars as a member of Mt. Healthy Chapter in Cincinnati, OH serving as Worth Matron several times, and Daughters of the Nile in Cincinnati. Also a member of Point Blank Lady Shooters as well as The Well Armed Women. Survived by niece, Becky (Jim) Elliott of Maumee, Ohio; and nephew Dr. David (Rosemary) Kumpe of Morrison, Colorado. Also survived by former spouses of other nieces and nephews, great and great-great grand nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted privately by the family.
