Mary Louise Shaw

Mary Louise Shaw, 94, passed away on May 21, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan, Texas with her family at her side. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 10, 1924 to John and Emma (Gedeon) Reitz. She graduated from Parma Schaaf High School in 1942. In 1946, she married Glenn Shaw of Dover, Ohio, and they shared 60 years of marriage until his death in 2006. Mary devoted her life to her family, church and friends. She served as a Girl Scout leader and volunteered in many roles at St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg, including Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, president of the Altar Rosary Society, school cafeteria volunteer and leader of the Helping Hands, serving funeral luncheons for many years. She also worked at Divine Word Seminary in Perrysburg as a seamstress. Mary was a loving and giving person, treasured by her family and friends who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her son Dave (Bev) Shaw; daughter Kathy (Ralph) Rodriguez; grandchildren Ben (Ashlee) Shaw, Jason (Laura), Anthony (Amanda) and Mark (Stephanie) Rodriguez; great grandchildren Kaitlynn, Braxton, Katherine, Kaylie, Sophia, Madelyn and Max; and many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn, son Gary and brother John. Family and friends may visit from 5:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, June 7, 2018 and from 10:00 am-1:00 pm on Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio, with the Rosary to be recited at 1:00 pm on Friday. The funeral mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 8, 2018 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Perrysburg, Ohio. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
