Mary Pat Sattler

Mary Patricia "Mary Pat" (Murphy) Sattler, age 72 of Perrysburg, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026 at home. Mary Pat was born October 4, 1953 in Toledo, Ohio to James B. and Patricia Grab Murphy, the third of four children. Mary Pat was a 1971 graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Toledo.

Mary Pat married Douglas R. Sattler on February 21, 1976, sharing 50 years of marriage and 56 years overall. Together they had four children, Doug Jr., Nick, Greg and Bethany, and eight grandchildren. Mary Pat's family was her pride and joy; everything she did was for her family.

Mary Pat spent many years providing childcare out of her home while acting as receptionist and bookkeeper for the family concrete business. She then worked many years for Perrysburg Schools cafeteria services and spent her last years of work as a manager at Wal-Mart, retiring in 2022.

Mary Pat's most accomplished career though was "Mom" and "Grandma." She enjoyed her years after retirement caring for and playing with her youngest grandchildren who lived right down the street from her, exactly how she liked it. Mary Pat was proud of all of her children and grandchildren, always sharing in their milestones and bragging to anyone who would listen about what they were doing.

Mary Pat was an avid gardener, always adding to and rearranging her flower beds and collecting many, many houseplants. She always had at least one, if not two or more, books in process, and loved sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee and a reading a book. And she never let anyone leave her house hungry, cooking for a crowd, regardless of how many people were expected, and sending leftovers home with everyone - just bring the container back and she would fill it up again for you the next time.

Mary Pat was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her devoted husband, Doug, and four children Douglas (Jessica) Sattler, Jr., Nicholas (Megan) Sattler, Gregory (Samantha) Sattler and Bethany (Ben Bramson) Sattler; along with eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Eric), Doug III, Elizabeth, Samantha, Luke, Sawyer, Wyatt and Mason. She is also survived by her siblings, Becky (Larry) Merryman, Sally (Garey) Budzinski, Jim (Vicki) Murphy, Shelley (Dave) Brossia and Katie (Mike) Harlow, along with many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2 from 4 - 7 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-WalkerFuneral Home, 222 E South Boundary St, Perrysburg, with a funeral mass on Saturday, October 3 at noon at St. Joan of Arc Parish, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo.
