Mary A. Saris, 90, of Oak Harbor passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at her residence. She was born on November 17, 1929 in Madison, WV to Alva Edison and Luna (Hunter) Browning. On March 12, 1954 she married John G. Saris , and he preceded her in death on December 8, 2018. Mary worked as a sales associate for Singer Sewing Machines and then JoAnn Fabrics. It was a perfect job for her because she loved to sew and she was very knowledgeable with sewing machines. Her and her husband then moved to North Carolina and presented hardware & giftware shows all throughout North Carolina, until moving back to Ohio. They were quite a team, a very soft sell though, and people enjoyed talking to them. They never promised anything they couldn’t deliver and really built a trust with their customers. Mary enjoyed sewing so much that she made her daughter her own Barbie clothes and also made clothing for family members to wear as well. She was an avid reader, especially of gardening books. Mary really enjoyed gardening and was known as the green thumb of the family. She passed on her passion for gardening to her daughter and granddaughter, who learned so much from her. Mary also loved to cook, especially for the family when she was healthy, and everyone enjoyed her Christmas cookies. Mary is survived by her daughter, Penny (Jim) Juhasz, son, George Saris, grandkids, Alexandria Miracola, Justin Miracola, Jason (Amanda Hansen) Miracola, and Brian (Deidra) Saris, great grandkids, Dyllan, Cedie, Brookie, and Brayden, and sister, Betsy Copley. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Wanda Ball, Bonnie Toth, Ruth Johnson, Jenny Scragg, Don Browning, and Ray Browning. Memorial services for Mary will be announced at a later date. Any memorial contributions may be given in care of the family. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com. Mary loved Jesus, lived honorably and loved her family greatly. She will be forever missed. We love you with all our hearts.
