Mary E. Sampson-Owings, 75, of Oregon, died Sunday morning, April 22, 2012 at Orchard Villa. Mary was born February 27, 1937 in Cleveland, TN to the late Clyde and Paris Davis McSpadden. Mary was a homemaker and was employed for 16 years with the Toledo Board of Education. A devoted mother and grandmother, she enjoyed traveling especially to the Smoky Mountains and crochet. She will be remembered for sharing her well-made crafts with many family and friends throughout the years. Survivors include her children, David Susan Sampson, Linda Nelson, Larry Terri, Sarah Ron, Raymond Mary and Ralph Stephanie Sampson; grandchildren, Stacie, Douglas, Helen, Tim, Daniel, Mallorie and Christopher; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, Allan Sampson, Ted Carver and Charles Owings; and two sisters, Lennie Neal and Myrtle Manis. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 2-8 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. concluded with services at 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
