Mary L. Rodriguez, age 82, of Sylvania went to be with the Lord and join her husband on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Flower Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born February 24, 1935 in San Antonio, TX to Christopher and Herminia (Moreno) Martinez. As the hearts of all that knew her break in the passing of such a generous, devoted and protective mother not only to her children, but anyone she cared for. She was a very strong and feisty woman with an incredibly huge heart. If you had the privilege of meeting her, you had a true friend for life. She had a young and nurturing way about her that made you feel extremely loved and part of her family. God and family was very important to her and came first in her life. Our Mother was our first love, best friend and a true matriarch to our family. She will be deeply missed beyond any words we could possibly express. She will remain in our hearts forever, but we take comfort knowing she is in heavenly eternity and reunited with the love of her life. Mary was a member of Holland Free Methodist Church and for a short time employed at [emailprotected] as a collator. Mary is survived by her sons, Michael (Sandi) Rodriguez, David (Lynn) Rodriguez, and Eddie Rorigi; daughter, Marisa (Todd) Rains; grandchildren, Jennifer, Ashley, Andrew, Nichol-e, Anthony, Athena, Kassie, Brock, Jade, Eddie, Natia and Easton; great-grandchildren, Madisyn, Evan, Liam, Adrianna and Sophia; siblings, Alfred (Rose), Gloria (Joe), Alice (Ray) and John Martinez; and many nieces and nephews.
