Mary F. Patterson

Mary (Farrugia) Patterson passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. She was born on June 17, 1960 in Southfield, MI to George E. and Mary (Bugeja) Farrugia. Mary graduated from Crestwood High School and later graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in Pediatric Occupational Therapy. She married her husband, Michael P. Patterson on July 27, 1985 in Garden City, MI. Mary worked at the Lucas County School District as a Pediatric Occupation Therapist for 30 years. Mary had an outgoing personality and had a large circle of friends who she considered family. She loved being with family and friends and cherished all the special memories with them. Mary held a special place in her heart for animals, especially her nine year old golden retriever, Indee. Mary was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and volunteered on behalf of the church. As an avid reader, Mary was also part of a book club. She had a passion for traveling and was always very proud of her Maltese heritage. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Michael P. Patterson; children, Thomas M. Patterson and Rebecca A. Patterson; her mother, Mary Farrugia; sisters, Antoinette (James) Guerreso and Georgina (Vince) Cassar; brother, Paul (Casey) Farrugia; and numerous nieces and nephews; and her devoted friend, Joan Barrett. She is preceded in death by her father, George E. Farrugia. Friends and family will be received Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 222 E. South Boundary St. Perrysburg, OH 43551 scripture services will be held at 7 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held the following day, on Monday, January 11, 2016, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St. Perrysburg, OH 43551.
