Mary Elizabeth Molnar

March 19, 1930 — July 30, 2021

Mary E. Molnar, 91, of Catawba Island, passed away on July 30, 2021 at her residence with her family at her side. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 19, 1930 and married the love of her life, Gene Molnar on November 3, 1951 and he survives. Mary graduated from Miami University of Ohio with her Masters degree in education, and started teaching in the Cleveland Public School System. She later moved to the Avon Lake High School where she taught typing and bookkeeping for the next 27 years, until she retired in 1995. Mary and her husband have owned and operated the N-E Port Marina in Catawba Island for the past 40 years. She enjoyed the hard work of marina life, always pitching in where needed weather it be in the office or outside she kept busy. Mary was dedicated to her profession and was a loving and caring person who looked forward to sharing her passion for boating, fishing, playing Bridge and a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup! Mary is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Gene, sons, Michael Molnar and Matt (Joane) Molnar, grandchildren, Mollie (Casey) Collins, Amanda, Nick and Jacob Molnar, and great grandchildren, McKenzie, Carrigan and conner. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, David Molnar. There are no services scheduled and the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, Ohio 43452, is assisting the family with arrangements.
