Mary K. Metroff

Mary K. Metroff, 64, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away, Sunday morning, August 21, 2022, at her residence.  She was born in Oregon, Ohio on February 12, 1958, the daughter of Edward B. and Thelma L. (Chandler) McCormick. She graduated from Genoa High School and Penta Vocational School in 1976, where she studied as a dental hygienist. Mary met James T. Metroff, Jr., and they were married on June 16, 1979, at the Genoa Christian Church.

Mary had worked for the former Hill’s Department Store until 1992. She had previously worked for Aa auto parts warehouse.  Mary liked to sew, crochet, attend auction sales and fairs, and visit with family and friends in person or on the phone!  She loved watching her five grandchildren.

Mary was a very loving and warm person who would stop and talk to everyone.  Her laugh and smile drew people to her, and her big heart wanted to help anyone who needed it!

Survivors include her loving husband and companion of 43 years, James, daughter, Kelly (Joel) Schwan, grandchildren, Claire, Jillian, Madelyn, Tyler, and Jamey and sister, Carolyn (Gale) Pfleghaar.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Thelma, son, Jamey Metroff, sisters, Margaret McCormick, Alma Stamm, Marilyn Sofo, Laruna & Janice.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, August 25, 2022, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday in the funeral home with burial to follow in Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury.
