Mary Lou Meek

Mary Lou Meek, 64, of Toledo, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving husband and daughters on Friday, August 5, 2022.  Mary Lou was born on November 20, 1957, in Oregon, Ohio to Charles and Mary (Krontz) Zeltner. On April 24, 1982, Mary Lou married the love of her life and best friend, James “Jim” Meek in Northwood, Ohio. Together, they celebrated 40 amazing years of marriage.

Lou was a 1976 graduate of Northwood High School. After high school, she attended culinary classes at Owens Community College. She worked as a manager of Duds-N-Suds and most recently as a bus driver and recess aide at Rossford Exempted Village School District, from 2006 until her retirement. When Mary Lou wasn’t working, you could find her reading a good book; either canning, cooking or baking; camping; playing Bunco; or just being with her family, making the best memories. Her loving, caring heart will be missed. She always made herself available when her family needed her and was a shoulder to cry on.

Lou is survived by husband, James “Jim” Meek; daughters, Cheri (Troy) Lucas and Deanna (Thadd) Huss; grandchildren, Ryan (Lisa) Meek, Jon Lucas, Rylee Hazlett, Jeremiah Ratcliffe, Haley Lucas, Annabelle Huss and Ava Huss; parents, Charles and Mary Ann Zeltner; sisters, Melody (Paul) Godfrey and Cathy Zeltner; sister-in-law, Judy Goss; great-grandchildren, James & Joanna Meek; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Breanna Meek, father-in-law, Thomas Meek; mother-in-law, Iantha Meek; brothers-in-law, Tommy, Garry and Wendell Meek; and sisters-in-law, Pat Meek and Billie Louise Hough.
