Mary Mathews, 95, of Curtice, OH passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018, on her 95th birthday, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 3, 1923 in Genoa, OH to Frank and Barbara (Malar) Jagos. On August 25, 1945 in Genoa she married Charles J. Mathews, and he preceded her in death in 1999. In her early career she worked for the former Dohner Dye Casting in Toledo and at Smith Cafeteria in Toledo both during World War II. Mary later worked as a cook for different schools including the Genoa High School, Brunner Elementary, and the Genoa Jr. High School, as well as Allen Central Schools before retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Williston, OH, where she was a member of the Rachel Circle. Mary is survived by her sons, Jack (Jill) Mathews, Thomas (Monica) Mathews, Daniel (Karen) Mathews, Donald Mathews, and Gary Mathews, daughters, Joanne (Al) Domrose and Donna Mathews, 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Joseph and Frank Jagos, sister, Katherine Brusak, and daughter-in-law, Bev Mathews. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church, 21140 Toledo St., Williston. Interment will follow in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston.
