MARY I. LIEBHERR Mary I. Liebherr, age 99, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012, in her residence. She was born in Toledo on August 15, 1912 to Michael and Josephine (Metzger) Harrington. She was the youngest of 5 children. Mary graduated from St. Ursula Academy and attended Catholic College before obtaining her teaching degree from Bowling Green State University. Mary was an Elementary School Teacher who taught at Good Shepherd School, Birmingham School, and Stickney Grade School. She was a member of Cardinal Singing Group and Good Shepherd’s Altar & Rosary Society, and was proud to be an Ursuline Associate. Mary was a devout Catholic and very active in the church all of her life. She was a big history buff, but most of all she was a loving wife and mother and treasured the closeness of her family and friends. She is survived by her 5 loving sons, James, John (Kathy), Thomas (Denise), William (Susan) and George Liebherr; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; cousins, Mary Helen Wright, John Harpen (Marcia) and William Meyer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James P.; sister, Helen Harpen; and brothers, George, Msgr John L., and James Harrington. Family and Friends will be received on Monday, February 20, 2012 from 2-8pm in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 701 N. Main St. Walbridge (419-666-3121). Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, and will begin with prayers at the funeral home at 9:15am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. in Good Shepherd Church 550 Clark St. Toledo, Ohio 43605. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Those planning expressions of sympathy are asked to consider Good Shepherd Church.
