Mary Pat Kleeberger

After a lifetime of taking care of her family, friends and students as a school nurse, Mary Patricia Carroll Kleeberger, is at rest and in the caring arms of God. On November 21, 2013, she succumbed to her yearlong struggle with ovarian cancer at hospice surrounded by her loving family. Mary Pat was born on September 6, 1944 to Robert Hugh and Jane Soubier Carroll in Toledo, Ohio. She was married on June 19, 1965 to Paul F. Kleeberger, Sr. and they shared 48 wonderful years together. Mary Pat was a graduate of St. Ursula Academy, St. Vincents School of Nursing and the University of Toledo. A nurse for over 45 years, she dedicated 30 of those years as a school nurse where she cared for numerous students from grade school through high school. Mary Pat was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and a former member of Little Flower Catholic Church, where she dedicated a number of years as a Girl Scout Leader and Parish Girl Scout Coordinator. She was also a member of the St. Ursula Academy and St. Vincent Nursing Alumni Associations. In her free time Mary Pat enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and playing euchre - something she and her husband took pleasure in for years as members of the same euchre club. She loved spending time with her friends over a long lunch. Mary Pat also enjoyed the lively discussions with her book club friends. She enjoyed college basketball and selecting her brackets for the March Madness Tournament. Mary Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Franklin and Cecilia Kleeberger. She leaves behind to treasure her memory her husband, daughters Jeanette Jim Grzeszczak, Amy Chris DEsposito, Peg Norm Damschroder, Patricia John Daschbach and son, Paul. Mary Pat was most proud of her eleven grandchildren Meg and Alex Grzeszczak, Ellen, Molly and Allison, DEsposito, Madeline and Emily Damschroder, Jack and Sarah Daschbach, Katie and Coleman Kleeberger. Also left to cherish her are her sisters, Jann Ralph Duchacek, Marguerite Paul Witt and Elizabeth Keith Engelhardt, sister-in-laws Cecilia Phil Lindsey and Kathleen Root and brother-in-laws Mark Sue Kleeberger, Alan Terri Kleeberger, Phil Linda Kleeberger, Ray Kleeberger and John Karen Kleeberger. Please join us in a celebration of her life at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd., for visitation on Monday, November 25 from 2-8 p.m., where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. followed by a sharing of memories to conclude the evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 26 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd. Private committal rites will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to: St. Ursula Academy, Ursuline Sisters of the Sacred Heart, St. Joan of Arc Church, or a charity of the donors choice.
