Mary Jo Jones

Mary Jo Jones, 88, of Maumee, passed away on December 27, 2022. She was born August 24, 1934 in Bryan, OH to Joseph and Emma Jefferis.

Mary Jo graduated from Bryan High School in 1951. She married the love of her life, William Jones on October 5, 1957. She was a long-time employee of the former Lion Store in the china department/bridal registry.

Mary Jo lived a fulfilling life as a devoted wife to her late husband, a loving mother of four, a caring sister to two, and a friend to many. She was an avid reader who enjoyed playing bridge, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying an occasional vodka, water, and olive cocktail. She was actively involved at the Maumee Elks and Lion Store retirees.

Family and friends will gather for a committal service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 7th at the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, 4210 Central Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43606. A luncheon will follow at Loma Linda's, 104000 Airport Highway in Swanton, Ohio.

Mary Jo is survived by her children; Grant (Cheryl) Jones, Kelly (Bill) Spencer, Barrie (Bob) Howell, Kristy (Paul) Dubitsky, 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Mary Jo is preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill), brothers Don and Roger Jefferis, and parents Emma and Joseph Jefferis.
