Mary J Smith

Mary Jane Smith, age 96, passed away peacefully at Genesis Village with her loving daughter Anita and Hospice by her side. She was born on December 31, 1924 in Sant Eusanio Del Sangro, Italy to Giuseppi and Fiorella ( D’Angelo) DiGiacomo. Mary was a woman of great faith and she loved collecting unusual imported knick knacks, music, crafts, card games, and was often a WII Bowling champion. Mary is survived by her son, Howard (Theresa) Smith; daughter, Anita (Shelia Stewart) Smith; grandchildren, Amanda Smith and Stephanie (Lisa) Smith along with many other close family members and friends. Yesterday, 2/18/2021, our sweet Mary was called home to the Lord. She passed away peacefully with her loving daughter Anita and Hospice by her side. She was a woman of great faith and was blessed to have her priest come see her for Ash Wednesday. Mary was part of the GV family for 6 years. She was very social and had a competitive side! She loved cards/games in general, music, crafts, the garden and flowers, and was often a Wii Bowling Champion. Despite Mary’s petite size, her personality and heart were HUGE! “And though she be but little, she is fierce!” She was thoughtful and caring for those around her. She LOVED her family and was incredibly thankful for and proud of her daughter and caretaker Anita, who is also very much part of our GV family.
