Mary M Hunyor

Mary Margaret Hunyor, 92, of Perrysburg, went to be with our Lord on August 10, 2013. Born on January 26, 1921 to Aloysius and Rose (Puhl) Wilson of Perrysburg, OH, Mary began a life dedicated to her career, church, and family. A life-long member of St. Rose Parish, Perrysburg, and a graduate of Perrysburg High School, Mary graduated from Mercy College School of Nursing in 1942. After an illustrious career as an RN, Mary retired as Director of Nursing in Psychology at St. Charles Hospital, Toledo. On January 20, 1945, Mary wed Louis Hunyor, her husband of 54 years. Together they raised nine children. Mary had many passions in life including knitting, crocheting, traveling, cheering for the Detroit Tigers and Notre Dame football, but most of all, Mary cherished time with her extensive family. She especially enjoyed family gatherings, and her favorite holiday, Christmas. Mary is survived by her loving family including children Patricia (Lyle) Stiles, Whitehouse; Sue (Michael) Mancini, Waterville; Timothy (Sandy), Portage; Diann, Toledo; Robert (Donna), Waco, TX; Thomas (Cathi), Maumee; Tammie (Tony) Lemle, Bowling Green; Randy (Marti), Bowling Green; sister Dorothy Frankforther (Perrysburg); 25 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and life-long best friend, Margaret Ziesloft. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis; son, Louis Jr.; and brother, James Wilson. Family and friends may be received at Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary, Perrysburg, Ohio (419-874-3133) on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM with a Rosary service at 7:00 PM. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, August 14. The funeral Mass will follow at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St. at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in St. Rose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
