Mary Ann Hartsock

Mary Ann Hartsock, age 87, of Toledo, died January 18, 2019 at her home. She was born August 15, 1931 to the late Stanley and Mary (Smazenko) Nykodym. A graduate of Metamora High School, Mary Ann was a nanny and senior care giver for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed watching soap operas, garage saling, and found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and beloved cat, Bootsy. Mary Ann will be remembered for her loving, compassionate and determined nature, and for her terrific sense of humor. Surviving is her cousin, Roger Rickenman; and longtime caregivers, Diana Silva and Mary Lou Schultz. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; sister, Arlene; cousin and dear friend, Daniel Nykodym. A service of remembrance will take place on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St., Sylvania, with visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Blind Veterans Association, United Spinal Association or ASPCA.
