Hortencia Mary Flores, 79, of Port Clinton, OH died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, OH. She was born on February 11, 1930 in Mission, TX to Jose and Maria Perez Flores. In 1948 in Arkansas, she married Roberto Rodriguez. Hortencia worked as a custodian for Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH for 16 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Port Clinton Baptist Church, Port Clinton and Eagles Lodge Aerie #2295. Hortencia enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and bingo. She especially loved her family. Survivors include: sons: Eduardo Nancy Rodriguez of Sandusky, OH and Daniel Rodriguez of Port Clinton; daughters: Antonia Marquez of Port Clinton, San Juanita Janie Terry Taylor of Port Clinton, Rosita Dave Longfield of Smithfield, VA, and Cecelia Wagner of Port Clinton; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband, an infant daughter, and many brothers and sisters. Memorial services will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2008 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the services from 9 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or to the family.
