Mary Barbara (Hilt) Flahiff was reunited with her husband Robert this past week. Bob and Barb were tennis partners when they were young, golf and travel partners as they aged. Barb was a self-employed bookkeeper who managed the accounts of countless small local businesses. In her retirement she devoted her time to her grandchildren, gardening and volunteer work at St. Rose Parish in Perrysburg. She began her education at Ladyfield and Gesu elementary, graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1949 and received her business degree from the University of Toledo in 1953. Barb is survived by her four children and their spouses: Janice (Carlton) Flahiff, Diane (Doug) Scaife, Carolyn (Cal) Smith, and Dan (Glenna) Flahiff as well as six grandchildren. Bob and Barb’s main focus were their children. The ability to provide a quality education and to set high moral standards were their main priorities. Their faith and services were not restricted to Sundays. It’s impossible to remember Barb without Bob, or Bob without Barb. We are so thankful for this perfect partnership, and wish them both a happy eternal reunion. Friends will be received for a funeral mass at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 East Front St., Perrysburg on Monday, January 30, 2017 beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at St. Rose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame Academy, 3535 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43623. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133).
