Mary E. Baker

Mary E. Baker, 102, formerly of Maumee OH, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 at The Glendale in Toledo. She was born August 26, 1905 in Monclova, OH to John and Emma Sheets Hertzfeld. Mary was employed as a Telephone Operator for the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company. She was very active and former officer with the Grange Organization in West Unity, OH. Mary spent all of her life as a farmers wife in Williams County, OH and also Lucas County, OH. The widow of Andrew J. Baker who passed away January 21, 2003, Mary is survived by her son, Donald Mary Baker of Newport News, VA; grandsons, David Jennifer Baker of Mechanicsville, VA and Greg Amy Baker of Hayes, VA; great grandsons, Austin, Andrew, Alex and William August Baker; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her sisters, Agnes Hertzfeld and Catherine Puhl and brother, Henry Hertzfeld. Family and friends may visit Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Maumee. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Maumee. The family would like to thank the staff at The Glendale, Ryan Road for all their care and concern for Mary.
