Mary Angela De Santis

Mary Angela De Santis, age 68, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024. Born on June 3, 1955, to Vincenzo and Adelina Ferrelli, Mary was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her.

Mary dedicated 35 years of her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent Hospital, from 1975 until her retirement in 2010. Her compassion and kindness touched the lives of countless individuals and their families.

Mary’s selflessness knew no bounds, and she often put the needs of others before her own. She spent many late nights working to serve patients in need. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and crocheting, particularly because they were activities which resulted in gifts she could give to those around her.

Above all, Mary valued family. On December 11, 1976, she married the love of her life, Mauro De Santis. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. Mary could always be counted on to bring a smile to those around her, or to simply be a listening ear to those in need.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mauro; children, Daniela, Marco (Andrea), and Marisa; grandchildren, Ernesta, and Lorenzo; sister, Anna (Giulio); nephew Domenic, and niece Julianna.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, on Monday, May 6, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a Rosary service taking place at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5373 Main St, Sylvania, on Tuesday, May 7, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
