Mary L. Cremer

Mary Lois Cremer, 88, of Waterville, Ohio and formerly of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 12,2023 in Hospice after living with Parkinson's Syndrome for nearly three years. She was born in Bucyrus, Ohio on September 12, 1934, to the late Milton and Pearl (Clady) Rothhaar. Mary spent her youth in Bucyrus, graduating from Bucyrus High School in 1952 where she was a cheerleader and a band head majorette. After graduation she moved to California for a short time before returning to Bucyrus where she met her husband, M. David Cremer. They were married on June 03, 1956.

She and David lived in Columbus, Ohio, Mary working for various military services as a civilian employee while David attended Ohio State University. After David's graduation in 1960 he took a job in Perrysburg and Mary and he moved to Maumee, Ohio, for several years then to Perrysburg, where Mary continued to devote her time to raising their two children and attending to the family. She planned and enjoyed the many nationwide summer camping vacations the family took. Once the children reached High School Mary took a secretarial job at The Lutheran Church of the Master outside Perrysburg. After the children were grown, she and David enjoyed vacations and trips, including the 1997 Rose Bowl, Hawaii, Alaska, the 2002 Winter Olympics in Utah (entire family), Bay of Fundy / Grand Manan Island New Brunswick, Canada, several Western trips, and annual trips with a group of friends to Ohio Amish Country as well as other local destinations. She continued to enjoy time with her children when they were in town.

Mary supported the Wood County Parks, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution - Ursula Wolcott-Black Swamp Chapter, The Nature Conservancy, enjoyed gardening and bird watching, and was a member of the Perrysburg Boat Club along with her husband for over 40 years. She even took up golf for a few years, playing with her husband. She belonged to Zoar Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband M. David of Waterville and their children, Laurie of Perrysburg, and David of Westerville, Ohio, as well as sister-in-laws Marlene Rothhaar of Sulpher Springs, Ohio, and Patricia Rothhaar, of Springfield, Ohio, and two nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Robert and Marvin Rothhaar, and one nephew. At Mary's request, no services will be observed. She will be interned at Oakwood Cemetery in Bucyrus.
