Sue

June 18, 1941 — May 3, 2024

Mary Susan “Sue” Crandall passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Ebeid Center in Sylvania. Sue was born June 18, 1941 in Toledo to Dr. William and Susan Wiedemann. She was a graduate of St. Ursula Academy and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Mary Manse College in Toledo. Sue was a dedicated teacher by profession and taught for many years at St. Agnes Elementary School and later at Our Lady of Lourdes before retiring.

Sue enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the United States. They also traveled to the beautiful islands of Bermuda, which she particularly enjoyed, and took many trips to Canada for hockey games with their five boys. She liked her pool days and lake days during the summer and playing the slots during her many trips to Las Vegas. Most of all, Sue loved her family. Sue was a hockey mom through and through. She was a big supporter of Northview High School Hockey and was very proud that all five of her sons played there. She loved cheering on her boys and later her grandchildren on the ice or the field and in everything they did.

Sue is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John Harry Crandall; sons, Bob (Sue), Matt (Kristen), Dan (Amy), and Kevin; brother, Mike (Janice); grandchildren, Drew, Emma, Maizy, Livia, David, Logan, Levi, and Zac Crandall; great-grandson, Jawone, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Margie and Pat Wiedemann, Jane (Steve) Spencer, Judy Neipp and Nancy (Steve) Farber; brother-in-law, Terry O’Loughlin: and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her son, David; siblings, William, John, and Peter Wiedemann; sister, Gretchen O’Loughlin; brothers-in-law, James and Joseph Crandall; and sisters-in-law, Joanne Cwiklewski and Judy Crandall.
