Refugia Mary Costilla, 84, of Perrysburg, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born July 4, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas To Jesus and Juanita Moreno. She married Pedro Costilla on September 12, 1954 and together they shared 65 years. Mary enjoyed singing with her brothers-in-law, nephews, and friends. Mary was a member of Guadalupe Society which consisted of a bunch of grandmas with their daughters from the neighborhood. Mary loved playing Bingo at Lakeview Hall, All Saint’s Church and St. George Cathedral. But Mary’s true passion was staying at home raising her family. Mary didn’t believe in strangers baby sitting so she was always available to baby sit. Mary was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. Mary was very strong in her faith that while she was passing her family was around her saying the rosary. Mary is survived by her children, Maria Angela Ramos, Jose David Costilla, Sr., and Juanita (Ricardo) Ramirez; grandchildren, Jose Jr., Leticia (Joe), Samuel Sr., Christina (Joe), Antonio Sr., Anastasia, Pedro Jesus, Theresa (Jessie) and Ricardo, Jr.; nineteen great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and sisters, Beatrice (Pedro) Vasquez, Mary (Francisco) Reyes, sisters-in-law, Becky Moreno, Maria Escobedo and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Pedro Costilla, Jr., parents, son-in-law, Ramon Ramos, siblings, Elena, Elvira, Victoria, Jose, and Cruz; two great-granddaughters and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
