Combader and he preceded her in death. Mary, you are and always will be a shining star lighting my life and my path. Mary, or Molly to some, you are an amazing source of energy and loving kindness to all your family and many many friends more than any one of us will ever know. Born in 1916 in New York City and raised during the depression years, your indomitable spirit exuded only fortitude, optimism and faith. An independent, self-confident girl who played high school basketball. The caring Bossy Gillis who ran the household as the six younger ones came home from school and Mary, your Mother, worked at Macys and St. Michaels. The savvy, yes sexy, and charming people-smart banker who helped the bank tellers understand your sense of style and class. A woman ahead of her times, a 2nd Vice President and banker to the NYC garment district businesses and famous designers. A woman of uncommon accomplishment in a mans world. Mary was also a great artist with a wonderful eye for color and light. A lover of nature and all Gods creatures. An early advocate of homeopathic medicine and taking care of yourself. A tireless caregiver to Grandma, every day for 8 years. A devoted wife, aunt and dear dear friend to all. Your style and grace are personified by the colorful hats you wore so well, perfectly framing your beautiful face, sparkling eyes and joyous smile. Very truly, your effervescent smile and inner radiance from your open heart and loving nature warmed us all. You listened and you heard more than what people said, you heard and saw what was in their hearts. You have left us all a legacy of happy memories wonderful stories, amazing shared experiences, and most importantly, a joyful loving spirit that is with us always.
