Mary A Calmes

Mary A. Calmes, age 80, of Millbury, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Heartland of Oregon. Mary was born on November 5, 1936 to Omer and Clara (Surprise) Beilstein in Toledo, Ohio. Mary married her beloved husband, Donald N. Calmes on July 3, 1960 in Millbury, Ohio and he preceded her in death. Mary was a bus driver for the Lake Local School Board for over 9 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Millbury and was a foster mother for Lucas County Children’s Services from 1970 to 1998. Mary was an avid camper and enjoyed the time she spent at Country Campground. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael (Emily) Calmes, Marcia (Kevin) Weller, Dawn (Jon) Kitzler, Donette (Jason) Hernandez, Don Calmes, Jr., and Dannon Calmes; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (Joseph) Woyame and brother, Harold (Elke) Beilstein. Friends will be received at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St. Walbridge, Ohio 43465 (419-666-3121) on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1459 South Street, Millbury, Ohio 43447 from 1:00-2:00 PM with funeral services starting at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury. Contributions in memory of Mary may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
