Mary Alice (Neumeyer) Bucher, age 63 of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 2, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo, OH on November 26, 1952 to Glen and Alice Curtis. Mary was the youngest of 6 children. She graduated from Anthony Wayne High School in 1971, and was a member of the generals marching band. Mary spent the last 20 plus years living in the Carolinas and recently came home to Ohio in September following a series of debilitating strokes. Mary enjoyed hiking and gem mining in the mountains, looking for arrowheads in the sand dunes, walking around the Swanton Reservoir, writing stories and rescuing animals. Mary was a brownie, girl scout and cub scout leader; secretary for Anthony Wayne Schools, Sunday school teacher; the volunteer coordinator at Catawba Care, and volunteered for the ASPCA. In addition to rescuing animals, she fostered them. Anyone who knew Mary, knew of her love for animals. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, especially homemade holiday meals, shopping, collecting antiques, watching westerns, animal planet and scary movies. Mary always had a smile on her face, even up until her final days. Surviving are her 4 children, David Myer (Michael Martz) of Howell, MI; Andrea (Jason) Williams of Perrysburg, OH; Donald (Vicki) Neumeyer of Follansbee, WV and Daniel Neumeyer of Toledo; grandchildren, Joshua Williams, Ashley Williams, Elizabeth Neumeyer, Joshua Buerstetta and Alissa Pedelose. She had many grand and great-granddogs, Nalla, Bear, Dante, Delta and Atlas. She is also survived by her 2 sisters, Linda (Ron) Whooley and Joyce Turner and brother Lee Curtis. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bub Curtis and sister, Layne Grzegorzewski. The family would like to extend a special thank you to The Lancaster News in South Carolina, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the nurses and staff at Spring Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, South Carolina and the many who donated to her go fund me account. Without all the support and help, mom would not have been able to come home. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 3-7PM with the funeral services to be held at 7pm in the funeral home. Interment will be private at Roth Memorial Cemetery, Monclova, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River RD., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
