Mary Browder

Mary Ellen Browder, 82, of Oak Harbor, OH “Her voice was ever soft, gentle, and low” passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital, Toledo, OH after a brief illness. She was born on March 13, 1942 in Port Clinton, OH to the late Oscar W. and Eva (Stanley) Browder. Mary graduated from Oak Harbor High School, earned a Bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University, then earned her Master’s degree from the University of Texas. After a lifetime of working in education and as a librarian, and traveling the world, she retired to live in Oak Harbor in 2007.

Mary is survived by her brother, Robert (Susan) Browder, many nieces & nephews, and her beloved cat, Harry. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Lee (June) Browder, Wes (Dolores) Browder, John (Alma) Browder, and sisters, Betty (Richard) Steinmiller and Margaret Browder.

Private burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Oak Harbor, OH at a later date. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
