(Mary) Louise Bischoff passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014. She was born to V. E. and Ida Lenhart in McComb, Ohio on August 5, 1919. Louise was the 1937 McComb Central High School Valedictorian and graduated from Tri-State Business College in Toledo. She worked as a secretary for the Glessner Mfg. Co. in Findlay and later for the Toledo Chamber of Commerce. She married Russell Bischoff in 1941. When Russ entered the military service soon after their marriage, Louise went with him, working as a secretary at Camp Gordon, Georgia and also at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. After Russ went over-seas, she returned to Toledo and worked as a secretary for the War Production Board. While raising her family, Louise volunteered in various community organizations, including 17 years with Mobile Meals of Toledo and at Flower and Toledo Hospitals. She also served the Toledo Hospital’s Chaplain’s Office for several years. Louise was a long-time member of Augsburg Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and served as a Eucharistic minister with husband Russ. More recently, she became a member of Providence Lutheran Church. She loved family, church, travel, bridge, and reading. Louise was preceded in death by her husband Russell and daughter Diane. She is survived by son, Bruce (Cherie) Bischoff and daughter, Denise (Mark) Roberts; grandchildren Meredith (Michael) Young, Lindsay (Rohan) Chitale, Benjamin (Rebecca) Roberts and Bradley Roberts; and by great grandchildren, Ram Chitale, Samuel Flick and David Roberts. Her brothers, Joseph and Ronald Lenhart also preceded her in death. Louise’s family greatly appreciates the wonderful care and attention provided to her by the staff of Comfort Keepers, the Swan Creek Retirement Village and Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) A private funeral service will be held for the family on Tuesday.
