Mary Lou Berg

Mary Lou Berg, 72, of Oak Harbor, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at her residence. She was born on January 8, 1940 in Oberlin, OH to Nelson and Edna Mauntel Gray. On October 3, 1959 in Oberlin, OH she married Edward E. Berg, and he survives. Mary Lou worked as a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her children, especially her grandchildren, and attending all of their activities. She was a wonderful caregiver as well, taking care of her mother and mother-in-law in her and Eds home prior to both of their deaths. She enjoyed boating, fishing, and going to casinos and the shows. Mary Lou was a terrific cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her loving husband of over 52 years, Ed, she is survived by her son: Michael Berg of Swanton, OH, daughter: Michelle Fred, III Lawrence of Oak Harbor, son: Ralph Lisa Berg of Oregon, OH, grandchildren: Derek, Dylan, and Sara Berg, TJ and Marykayla Lawrence, and like a granddaughter: Rosanna Belcher, brother: Nelson Jenny Gray of Milan, OH, and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father: Harold Parsons, sister: Priscilla Parsons, and granddaughter: Whitney Lynn Berg. A Celebration of Life Service for Mary Lou will be conducted 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, with visitation 2 hours prior from 3-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mary Lou may be directed to Stein Hospice, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, or Calvin United Church of Christ.
