Mary Louise Andaverde

Mary Louise Andaverde, age 78, of Genoa, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022 at St. Charles Hospital surrounded by family peacefully. She was born in Marblehead, Ohio on August 4, 1944 to Morris and Marjorie (Baker) Smith. On February 14, 1970, Mary Lou married Jose Andaverde at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa. She devoted her life to her family. She loved tending to her garden at home and also helping with the gardening work at the Gazebo at Elderlife where she resided and at St. John UCC in Genoa, where she was a current member. Mary Lou also enjoyed puzzles, singing in choir and shared her decorating skills with heart in the hallway where she lived. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Jose “Joe”; children, Michelle (James) Stanley and Vincent Andaverde; grandchildren, Enrique, Justin, Chelsea, Corey and Ava; great grandchildren, Andrew, Clayden, Kamber, Milo and one on they way. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Diana Wallen, Marjorie Edwards, Rose Marie Raney, Peggy DeLeon, Sharon French, Jon David Smith and Morris Lee Smith.

A celebration of life will be held from 10:00 am-12:00 pm on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the St. John United Church of Christ Church, 1213 Washington Street, Genoa, Ohio. Interment will be private at a later date. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Genoa had the honor of assisting the Andaverde family.
