Marvin W. Widdel, 88, of Perrysburg, Ohio and of Bonita Springs, Florida died peacefully on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at The Waterford at Levis Commons, to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born in Hammond, Indiana on June 23, 1930 to Reinhold W. and Frieda E. (Voss) Widdel. Marvin honorably served as a Staff Sargent in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He married his sweetheart, Lois Marie Willmes on September 8, 1951 in Lansing, IL and spent nearly 67 years together. Marvin was in sales and management for Lutheran Mutual Life Insurance Company for 40 years. He was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 28, Phoenix Lodge and Zenobia Temple in Perrysburg, OH, Araba Temple in Fort Myers, FL, a member of the Jesters, and enjoyed the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Marvin was a past president of the Perrysburg Area Chamber of Commerce. Marvin was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed watching Fox News and sports on ESPN. Marvin is survived by his wife, Lois M. Widdel; sons, James M. (Debra) Widdel and Ken C. (Deborah) Widdel; grandchildren, Jamie (Brian) Newell, Kelly (Jared) Okoneski, Kerry (Jeff) Kohler, Jason (Amy) Widdel and Denae Ammons; 10 great grandchildren and 1 due in July; brother, Charles (Janet) Widdel; sister-in-law, Pamela (Cliff) Thomas; nephews, David Widdel, Daniel Widdel, Timothy Koselke, Richard Koselke and Loren Willmes. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold Widdel; great-grandchildren, Devon and Caleb Ammons. Friends will be received on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary St, Perrysburg, OH 43551 (419-874-3133). Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 East Indiana Ave., Perrysburg, OH 43551 where funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M.
