Marvin A. Tabbert, 88, of Graytown, Ohio, died Friday, November 3, 2017, at Lane Park of Oregon in Oregon, Ohio. He was born on January 18, 1929, in Benton Township, Ohio, to Rudolph and Hilda (Otten) Tabbert. He married Ila J. Dewitz on June 14, 1952, in Oak Harbor, Ohio, and she survives. Marvin was a lifelong farmer in Benton Township, and during the early 1980s he served as a trustee and past chairman of the Benton Township Trustee Board. He had also served on the Graytown School Board during the 1960s and as a director and member of the Ottawa County Co-Op during the late 1960s and into the 1970s. Marvin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ila, son, Terry (Carol) Tabbert, daughter, Ava (Dale) Bodnar, grandchildren, Calli, Monica, Tera, Jenny, Amy and Megan; 12 great grandchildren; and siblings, Donald (Hazel) Tabbert, Kathryn Bruns, Sharon LeVay, and Susan Rothert. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services for Marvin will be private with burial in the Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, Ohio. The family has suggested memorials for Marvin to be given to the donors choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, Ohio.
