Marvin B. Tony Kramer age 77, formerly of Maumee died Saturday April 19, 2008 in his home. Tony was born in Maumee on March 15, 1931 to Otis and Bonnie Blair Kramer. Tony played on the 1947-48 undefeated Maumee football team, all conference 2 years as a fullback and captained the 1949 basketball team. Tony was inducted into the Maumee High Schools Hall of Fame in September of 2004. He was active with the Maumee Fire Department where he went through the ranks to become Chief of the Firefighting Bureau. Tony was an Ohio State certified fire instructor teaching on the local, regional and state levels. He was also instrumental in forming The Lucas County Firemans Association of which he was the first president, holding that office for 3 years. Tony was part of the original area fireman who helped set up the curriculum for the Owens Technical College Fire Science Program. His memberships included the International Fire Service Training Association, The Alliance For Fire and Emergency Management, Ohio Fire Chiefs, Northwest Ohio Fire Chiefs, Lucas County Fire Chiefs, Northwest Ohio Volunteer Fire Association, Lucas County Firemans Association, Ohio Firemans Association, Northern Light 40 F&AM, Scottish Right and Zenobia Shrine. Tony is survived by his children, Michael Karen Kramer, Toni Hamilton and Blair Kramer; grandchildren, Lindsay and Casey; sister in-law, Shari Jim Lowry; brother in-law, John Kathy Boles and mother in-law, Louise Boles. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandy Kramer; Parents; brother, Rich Kramer and sister, Pauline Beamon. Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Tuesday from 2-9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church 4560 Glendale Ave. Toledo. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Maumee.
