Marvin Rofkar Grover, 80, of Catawba Island, passed away, Saturday, December 11 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, OH. He was born on April 11, 1930 in Catawba Island, the son of Willard B. and Mabel Rofkar Grover. Marvin was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. On December 18, 1954 in St. John Lutheran Church, he married Joanne Eileen Windnagel and she survives. Marvin was a sheet metal worker and supervisor for Gundlach Sheet Metal, Sandusky Oh for 35 years retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH. Marvin was a former member of the Catawba Island Zoning Board of Appeals and a Scout Master of Catawba Island. He was active in Little League Baseball at Catawba Island and was instrumental in developing the John Braun Park. Marvin was an avid golfer and member of the Oak Harbor Golf Club. He supported the Port Clinton High School sports programs. Survivors include: Loving wife of 55 years: Joanne Windnagel Grover of Port Clinton, OH; Son: Martin Barbara Grover of Oak Harbor, OH; Daughters: Joellen Paul Anderson of Ocala, FL, Jennifer Keith Cox of Orlando, FL and Jan John Tutalo of Dayton, OH; 4 Grandchildren: Lauren Grover of New York City, Drew Justine Grover of Oak Harbor and Jason Anderson of Ocala, FL; many loving nieces and nephews and Brother: Andrew Helen Grover of Port Clinton, OH. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be 4-7PM, Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. James Lehman at 10:00AM, Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery.
