Marvin Lee Grau, 82, of Oak Harbor passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Hospice of NW Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born on November 24, 1938 in Port Clinton, OH to Richard C. and Sylvia L. (Schanke) Grau. Marvin served in the U.S. Army Ohio National Guard from December 1955 – August 1962. In 1967 he married Betty (Felkey) and she preceded him in death in 2007. In 2010 he married Dorothy (Avers-Wendt) and she survives. Marvin worked for Nelson Schanke Construction, Playbill Rubber in Toledo, and as a truck driver for U.P.S. for over 30 years, before retiring in 1997. He also helped his son John on the farm raising pigs as well. Marvin was a longtime member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was confirmed in 1953. Marvin’s favorite hobby was his vegetable gardening and his fruit trees. He enjoyed traveling including visiting 48 of the 50 United States, wintered many years with Betty in Arizona and Florida. Also, bus travels to New England, Southern East Coast, Upper Michigan, Tennessee, Kentucky, Yellowstone and the Badlands with Dorothy. Marvin enjoyed going to truck pulls watching his son John pull, family gatherings, spending time with grandkids, and traveling to Amish Country. In addition to his loving wife Dorothy, Marvin is survived by his son, John (Kathy) Grau, step-children, Helen Lindsay and Daniel (Laurie) Wendt, grandchildren, Chris Grau, Dale (Maria) Grau, and Augusta Grau, step-grandchildren, LeahAnn, Sadie, Justin, Kylee, Ryan, and Aubree, many step-great grandchildren, and sister, Joyce Laubacher. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty, brothers, Lloyd, Kenneth “Kenny”, Ronnie, and Merle, and sister, Lois Grau. Visitation for Marvin will be Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 2-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 3, 2021 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Per the Governor’s mandate, masks and social distancing should be observed. Burial will follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor with military graveside services conducted. Memorial contributions in memory of Marvin may be given to St. John Ev.
