Marvel Blauvelt Hillebrand, 99, of Denver, Colorado and formerly of Toledo, died December 29, 2014 in Denver, shortly after celebrating her 100th Christmas. Marvel was born July 28, 1915 in Continental, Ohio to the late Charles and Loretta (Jones) Blauvelt. A graduate of Leipsic (OH) High School, Marvel was a homemaker. She was formerly a member of Gesu Catholic Church, the Toledo Yacht Club and the Toledo Mental Health Center Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed pottery, reading, gardening, boating, arts and crafts and exercising her quick wit. Marvel is survived by her son, W. Charles Hillebrand (Patricia Hillebrand), Snellville, GA; daughter, Joan Hillebrand Alexander (Barton Alexander), Denver, CO; son-in-law, John Herlihy (Jane Hillebrand, deceased Nov 2011) and grandchildren, Stephanie and Kristen (Hillebrand) and Erin, Steve and Mike (Herlihy). Marvel was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Hillebrand, in 2005; brothers, Ralph, Fred, Vaughn, Dahl and Eddie Blauvelt; and sisters, Beth Phillips, Kathryn Little and Marjorie Kerins. Private services will be held in the Walker Funeral Home, Toledo. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to a charity of your choice.
