Martin A. Gahn, 89, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Sunday, June 02, 2013 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, OH, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 19, 1923 in Elmore, OH, the son of Bert and Dorothy Flint Gahn. On August 01, 1947, in Angola, IN, he married Mary Ann Rogers and she preceded him in death on May 31, 2007. Martin worked as a laborer for Standard Products for 39 years and 4 months, until his retirement in 1985. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during WWII. Martin was a hard worker, a caretaker for many local families and enjoyed recycling. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Daughter: Virginia Ann Larry Bellamy of Elkhart, IN; Sons: Michael Martin Bonnie Foster Gahn of Worthington, OH and Stuart Roger Jody Gahn of Port Clinton, OH; Daughter: Cecile Ed Mahr of Port Clinton, OH; 7 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers: Robert, Wilbert, Herbert, Gilbert and Richard, sisters: Beatrice, Gladys, Carolyn and Katherine. Visitation will be 9:00AM to 11:00AM, Saturday, August 03, 2013, at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. A Memorial service will be conducted by Pastor Bruce Batchelor-Glader at 11:00AM, following visitation in the funeral home. Interment will be private in the Whiteford Union Cemetery, Monroe, MI. Memorial donations in memory of Martin may be given to Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
