Martin H. "Muddy" Duck, age 93, of Toledo, Ohio received his angel wings Monday, October 22, 2018 at Kingston of Perrysburg. He was born in Toledo on July 2, 1925 to Francis and Bertha (Dauster) Duck. Leaving Waite High School before graduating, Muddy went on to serve our country during World War II in the U.S. Navy where he was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He met and later married Ethel Weiler on June 16, 1954 and they spent 57 years together before her death in 2011. He was a member of Teamsters Local #20 where he drove truck for Tiedke's Department Store for over 30 years. Muddy was later employed by the U.S. Postal Service for over 10 years. Muddy enjoyed fishing with his nephew Jim and brother Jim in North Carolina. He also loved amusement parks and riding roller coasters with his late grandson, Michael. He is survived by his daughter, Gail (George) Sype; nephew, Rod Weiler; sister, Germaine Rihacek; brother, John (Sandy) Hendricks; many nieces, nephews, cousins, grand dogs, Harlie and Maxie. Muddy was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Duck; mother, Bertha Duck; step-father, James Hendricks Sr.; brother, James Hendricks Jr.; grandson, Michael C. Floro as well as his beloved dogs, Tippy, Cocoa and BJ. Friends will be received on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 12:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Neville Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879) where funeral services will follow at 5:00 P.M.
