Martha Ann Foltz

“Love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.” Today we lost our best friend, wonderful mother and grandmother as now she walks her walk with Jesus. Martha Ann Foltz was born June 10, 1920 to Stanley and Constance Piasecki on a farm in Holland, Ohio which is now where the Strawberry Festival is held. She was raised there with nine siblings, working hard as kids do on farms. She began her working career as a nanny and cleaning gal for a family at the age of 12, sending money home to help her family. At an older age she worked at various jobs, the Glove factory in Toledo, Champion Spark Plug and after marrying her husband Bill Foltz, she kept the books of their business Automatic Septic Tank Company. After her husband’s passing, she sold Automatic and went on to work for Springfield Schools. She is preceded in death by her husband of 11 years Bill Foltz, her parents, eight of her siblings and great grandson Samuel. She has one remaining sister, Mary VanBuskirk of Arizona. She is survived by her two daughters, Billie Ann (Lee) Griesinger, Sandra Kay (Charles) Kistner who she lived next door to all of her days. Her six grandchildren have so many memories of their grandmother, from ice cream cones to rides on her John Deere with her; to overnight stays and doing cart wheels at volleyball games. Her seventeen great grandchildren will always remember her love and giving ways and her silliness. These few words we have written cannot convey the loving, giving person our mother was. We were all truly blessed. Family and friends will be received Monday, December 29, 2014 between 2 and 8 p.m. in the Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Springfield Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ebeid Hospice Residence in memory of Martha.
