Martha Sue Decavitch

March 18, 1959 — March 18, 2024

Martha Sue DeCavitch, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on March 18, 2024, her 65th birthday, in Toledo, Ohio. She was born on March 18, 1959, to loving parents, Patricia and Richard Stichter.

Born and raised in Toledo, Martha was deeply invested in her community and church. She attended St. Ursula High School and later pursued her passion for caretaking at the University of Toledo, where she earned a degree in Nursing. She was an accomplished swimmer for Greater Toledo Aquatics Club (GTAC) and St. Ursula.

Martha's impact reached far beyond her immediate family. She was a devoted friend, always ready with a listening ear, a comforting embrace, and offering to help in any way she could. Her warmth and genuine kindness touched the hearts of everyone she encountered, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Martha found joy in the simple pleasures of helping others and putting anyone before herself. She loved her church and spending time there along with having a green thumb and gardening. You could not keep her out of the sun or the water.

She is survived by her loving children, Lauren (Greg) Borer, Austin Johnson, Mason (Katie) DeCavitch, Connor DeCavitch; grandchildren, Brayden, Avery, Kelty, and Sloan; devoted mother, Patricia Stichter; cherished siblings, Kris (Fred) Goodell, Frank (Christie) Stichter, and Tom Stichter; many more nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Martha was preceded in death by her loving and dedicated father, Richard Stichter.

Martha's memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she may no longer be with us, her legacy of love, compassion, and caretaking spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
