Maro Ferris

On November 28, 2021, Maro Martin Ferris passed away peacefully at Sunset House in Toledo, surrounded by family, just short of her 103rd birthday. She did and saw a lot in those 103 years: among many other things, she lived through two pandemics. She was born before women could vote but she lived to help elect the first female Vice President. She earned both a BA and an MA in English and taught English in middle school and high school for many years before marrying. In sixty years of marriage, Maro and her beloved husband Bob traveled all over the world, raised two loving children, Marilyn and Rob, and cherished their loving grandson, Chris. Maro was a wonderfully kind, caring, curious, and intelligent woman. Her family will miss her enormously but are so grateful for all the time we were able to spend with her.
