Marlene J. Smith, 85, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at her residence in the Long Beach Community. She was born on May 29, 1932 in Fremont, OH to Harold and Marie (O’Connor) Kelsey. She was part of the Ross High School Class of 1950. In 1983 in Port Clinton, OH she married Robert “Bob”Smith, and he preceded her in death on September 23, 1999. Marlene spent many years as a homemaker and bus driver for the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District before she retired. She also spent many years running her own seamstress and upholstery business. Marlene enjoyed traveling and spent winters in California with Bob. After his death she spent winters at home in Long Beach with her family. Marlene is survived by her son, Dan (Rona Lockwood) Druckenmiller and his kids, Rochelle Druckenmiller, Dan (Stephanie) Druckenmiller, Jr., Meredith Ibert, and Shiloh (Jeremy) Druckenmiller, daughter, Rebecca (William Durbin) Goehring and her kids, Holly Ontko, Steven (Jenny) Ontko, Richard Ontko, and Kimberly (Mike) Ontko-Riffle, daughter, Constance Witt-Tamburro, daughter, Lori (Matt Plotts) Eischen and her kids, Brandon (Haley White) Hoelzer and Amanda Hoelzer, many great grandchildren, step-son, Craig Smith, several step-grandchildren, sister, Lucille “Bobbie” Sorg, and her longtime companion, her dog, Sugar. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Margaret Wolfe, step-son, Kirk Smith, son, Kenneth Witt, Jr., and daughter, Paulette Druckenmiller. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
