Marlene A. Anderson, 88, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away, Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the Genoa Retirement Village, Genoa, Ohio. Born in Frankfort, Michigan on December 20, 1936, and raised in Ludington, Michigan, she was the daughter of Vincent R. and Vida M. (Fargo) Mitchell. She married Paul E. Anderson, in Monroe, Michigan on May 17, 1957 and he preceded her in death on August 10, 1988.
Marlene worked in the restaurant at the Woolworth Department Store at the former Woodville Mall, for many years. She enjoyed camping, painting and sewing. She was a “home body” who liked a good murder mystery, crossword puzzles and a pot of tea.
While she enjoyed many things, her family was the most important to her. They include daughter, Sharon (Sean) Anderson-Carolin, sons, Doug (Melissa) Anderson and Michael Anderson, grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Lissner, Timothy (Audrey) Okapal, Michelle (Dylan) Bitter, Erika (Andrew) Oberski, Erin (Andrew) Stainbrook, Morgan (Jacob) Conner, Regan Anderson and Amber Anderson, and her great grandchildren, Taylor, Oliver, Kaylee, Milo, Kendall, Ezra and Ronan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sons, Daniel Anderson and Dale Anderson.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 8, 2024, in the Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, Ohio. Immediately following the service the family will gather for a celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
