Mark A. Rasmus, age 62, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The son of Carl and Ella Panning Rasmus, he was born June 26, 1948 in Celina, OH. Mark was a 1966 graduate of Rogers High School and in 1970 earned his Bachelor of Business degree at The University of Toledo, where he was member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He married the love of his life, Kay Westrich on November 13, 1970. Mark was president of Tomahawk Development, a commercial real estate development firm located in Maumee, Ohio. Much of his work was done in Arrowhead Park and Northwest Ohio. Throughout his career he made many wonderful friends and colleagues. He served on the Ohio and Toledo Boards of Realtors and was a member of the Lucas County Improvement Corporation. Throughout his life, he had much admiration for the Catholic Church and proudly converted to Catholicism in 2004. He was a member of Corpus Christi University Parish. He enjoyed sporting events of all types, but especially loved hockey: travel, St. Johns High School, Toledo minor league teams, and the Detroit Red Wings. He loved his work, taking bike rides with his wife, the city of Toledo, and most of all his family and friends. Mark will be remembered as being a loyal and passionate person who lived life to its full potential. He is survived by his loving wife, Kay; children, Alison David Kreiger, Markus Rasmus; and sister, Carolyn J. Rasmus Orem, UT. He was preceded in death by both his parents. The family would like to thank the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, especially Dr. Khaled Hafez, M.D.; his family physician, Dr. Rex Figy, M.D. and Hospice of Northwest Ohio who all took such good care of him. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 2-9 PM at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave West of Corey Rd. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM at Corpus Christi University Parish.
