Mark Houston was born on March 9, 1958 to Francis and Bernadine Houston in Detroit, MI. He moved to Toledo, OH when he was six years old. Here, he attended Saint Francis De Sales High School and the University of Toledo, where he studied Electrical Engineering. Mark worked for Toledo Edison for 16 years, first as an electrical engineer and later as a project auditor. In 1998, Mark became president of Creative Business Forms, formerly owned by his father, Francis. In recent years, Mark began tutoring business students at Lourdes University. In 1978, Mark met his future wife Amy on the University of Toledo campus. They were married on September 4, 1982 and celebrated 32 ½ wonderful years together. He was not only a devoted husband, but a loving father as well. Mark and Amy were blessed with two daughters, who were active participants in sports, theater, and music. Mark loved to support these pursuits as a coach, mentor, and #1 fan. Much of Mark’s youth was spent playing baseball on Goddard field, a sport he continued to enjoy as an adult. He was interested in the stock market at a young age and used his paper route money to invest while still in elementary school. Mark was always musical and enjoyed singing and playing guitar. The Houstons would often host backyard movie nights for the neighborhood. Known for his sense of humor, Mark loved to socialize. His Three Stooges mask was a Halloween tradition. He was also known as an excellent cook. No family gathering was complete without his famous mashed potatoes. Mark was often seen around town with his best pal, Buster, a wire-haired fox terrier. Buster always rode in the front seat when Mark ran daily errands. Mark was generous, funny, courageous, positive, and extremely intelligent. He loved his family and made them the true focus of his life. On March 13, 2015, Mark passed away surrounded by family at the Ebeid Hospice Center. He is survived by his wife, Amy; daughters, Elizabeth and Emily; brothers, Thomas (Martha), Robert; and sister, Patricia (Christopher) Cochrane.
